City and State Magazine has named Chyresse Wells, APR, Public Relations Strategist of Corning Place Communications to its 2021 Albany 40 Under Forty list. The selection is a recognition of the next generation of rising stars in New York State politics.
With more than a decade of experience in media relations and public affairs, Chyresse cemented her passion for public service and advocacy while working in the press office at Empire State Development and then with the Executive Chamber. When she joined the CPC team in 2018, Chyresse applied her experience and connections with reporters and editors across the state, to support the advocacy efforts of the firm’s clients. Now, she works with a diverse portfolio of clients in agriculture, healthcare, public safety, and education, delivering comprehensive advocacy campaigns, and providing strategic public affairs and media relations services.
A notable accomplishment leading up to 2021 was Chyresse’s work with the Northeast Dairy Producers Association. NEDPA’s food donations to the public during the coronavirus pandemic required partnerships with elected officials and other agricultural groups to deliver unused food products to communities in need across New York City and Upstate. More than a dozen media placements were secured in major media markets throughout New York State, including the New York Daily News and Auburn Citizen papers, as well as coverage by several broadcast TV stations from Buffalo to NYC. Additionally, an interview CPC coordinated between a NEDPA member farm and an Associated Press reporter and videographer resulted in more than 300 additional media placements in New York State and across the nation.
